Lots of great progress at Cilcain despite the late snow, howling gales and pathetic spring temperatures! It’s a struggle to get the seedlings to put on healthy growth with low light levels and the cold days (as well as nights).
We are launching veg shares this Feb. The veg will be fresh, local, good value, grown sustainably and using organic principles. This is the only veg share scheme based in Flintshire and places are limited.
Thanks to Helen and her bird expert friend (and another of her friends actually building them for us!), we now have two bird boxes on site in Northop. They are designed for an owl and a kestrel and will help keep our mice down.
A great turn out with about 20 people through the day – fantastic considering the weather. It was actually fine with just the one hail shower and even the odd bit of sunshine.
