Productive polytunnels

The guys and gals have been keeping busy at Northop watering and weeding to ensure the polytunnels are in peak condition for the impending harvest.

The tomatoes are coming already, the carrots are showing and some of the chillies and cucumbers are flowering. The next batch of salads will soon be ready too.

We have begun work clearing and preparing beds in the 4th tunnel in use, T3. In here We have planted the excess chillies and peppers that I have had left over from home. T3 is not in the best of conditions, so it is a bit of a gamble for these plants, but the bed was prepped well so finger’s crossed!

One of the most exiting things happening in Northop is the emmergence of mushrooms in T4. These mushrooms are sprouting up near the tomatoes, and are looking really nice to eat – but can we eat them? Anyone know what they are?

Please let us know soon as they do not last very long.
