Mowing at Cilcain

Mowing at Cilcain

We had a hard, but satisfying, day on Saturday.

Chris Giles brought a little Kubota tractor to site to test Marcus, Lucy and Sandi’s ford. He got over but it was a little scary and some modifications might be needed for regular use.

He and Sandi then proceeded to demolish the bracken – do look at the piccies to see what a great job they did with tractor and hand mower.

Meanwhile Lisa was cropping all our lovely veg and we had freshly dug new potatoes, with mint from the stream and boiled on our fire, for lunch.

The garden is now looking really good (with the exception of the sluggish beetroot – sorry Sandi!) and the wider field is almost ready for ploughing – anyone know a friendly farmer who might help with this?

There’s plenty of veg to crop so no excuse for buying elsewhere!
