First CSA Day at Cilcain
Really the photos say it all….
We had laughter and giggles and sticky spades and marshmallows and home made soup on the fire. We made flags and shrines of bones and wellies got filled with water. We chatted with old friends and made lovely new ones.
We had fun.
Oh, and we got a fair bit of soil turned and the window in the greenhouse!
Can’t wait for the next one!

Our first workday at Cilcain, as members of VegShare exceeded all expectations!! As well as being involved in growing our own veg we are delighted to be part of a like minded community of lovely people, all so welcoming and like us, keen to learn as much as possible about growing the produce we eat. An added bonus is that our young children are able to learn alongside us and at the same time benefit from new friendships and the freedom to play in such a beautiful open space. We are already eagerly looking forward to our next workday and many happy times ahead! Thank you to all those who have put their time and energy into creating and bringing into being such a wonderful scheme. Louise Edwards
A really fulfilling day of site preparation in a wonderful tranquil spot with a super bunch of people. It is great to be in from the start, involved in bringing the land into productivity for the anticipated bounteous harvest. The beautiful community garden at Cilcain provides testament to how a dense bracken stand can be transformed into a productive veggie garden and was a great source of inspiration and impetus to just keep digging! I am looking forward to many more such lovely days in Flintshare’s gardens, nurturing, learning, laughing, nourishing….
Thanks all for the opportunity
